Fall in Vermont

October 10, 2012

Monday I had the day off from work and it was beautiful out. I did what any normal, not having to work today, adult would do. I went on a hike and pretended that I was a tourist in my own state. Chris and I headed up to Stowe and stopped at the Cold Hollow Cider Milll to get some cider donuts, then kept the party train going and headed up to Stowe and hiked Sterling Pond.

I never really know what to wear when I go hiking because you are gaining elevation which means it is going to be chillier at the top but you are working up a sweat etc. So difficult. I was pumped that my Lesley tights from Oiselle came in the week before. They were the perfect weight for this hike. This is like the fifth time in a week that I have worn these pants. They are literally the perfect pair of pants. I have worn them for several runs in chillier weather and wet weather plus the hike and just lounging around the house. Seriously, the best pair of pants EVER. Ok, enough about how obsessed I am with Lesley…moving on…

Chris checking us in

The foliage was unbelievable

We finally made it to the top where the Smugglers Notch ski lift is. So weird to see this place that I know so well with snow, with out snow.

We went back down to Sterling Pond and did a mini photo shoot…Oh hey Lesley, nice to see you!

Yes, I love Oiselle’s clothing! Yes, I am trying to go faster and take chances in my running too!

Sirius having a blast hiking

After the hike we kept the tourism going by heading down to Boyden Valley Winery to do some wine tasting.

After buying several bottles of wine we called it a day. Best Columbus day ever! Well, aside from Columbus day 2008. That was the day after my wedding but I digress. However, if you ARE wondering the day before Columbus day 2008 was 10.12.2008 meaning my 4th wedding anniversary is THIS friday! Woo hoo!

So all in all a great “free” day off for me from work. I wish every Monday could be spent being outside in amazing weather trapsing up mountains and tasting wine. That is the life!

BTW expect a full Lesley review soon and an ultra secret discount code to get your own pair of Lesleys!
