6 + 6 = 12 Amazing Miles
Yesterday I ran 6 miles with Chris through Burlington. I wanted a nice, flat route. However, sometimes what you want isn’t want you get. Chris assured me that we wouldn’t hit too many hills as he picked the route we were going to be doing. LIES. All lies! Hilly run it was. However, at the end it was exactly what I needed. I felt cleansed, even though I was a sweaty beast! Sometimes I feel most clean when I am the sweatiest. I guess that is how you know you had a great workout/ run.
Today, I headed to Catamount Family Center to do an easy trail run. I mean, trail running is hard, at least for me, so easy is relative I suppose. After yesterdays uphill battle I definitely was wanting less of an incline. My friend Ryan and I took off and followed the yellow arrow, green background trail which went around all the other trails and was told it was about 6-7 miles. Perfect. Well, like yesterday, sometimes what you want isn’t what you get. I wanted to meander through the trails, take my time and rest and stop when I felt like it. Apparently Ryan wanted to power through the trails and attack the hills. The trails were amazing and so peaceful though so I didn’t mind the hard work. We were eventually rewarded with a spectacular view going up all the hills so it was well worth all the sweat and hard work! I only wish I had my phone to take a photo. Maybe next time. I have a feeling today isn’t my last day to do that trail!

When I run in Burlington I try to strategically plan it so I don’t have to run up Main, or Cliff or Bayview. I think I saw you walking one day last week with Sirius (I recognized him) as I was driving by.
Everyone recognizes Sirius. People in my building know him and totally forget mine and Alan’s names haha. He thinks he is quite the celebrity! haha. You should have honked! Hopefully one of these days we will run into each other!
