7 miles / 65ish minutes (9:21 min/mile pace)

It is so true, there is no place like home. Travelling and exploring other places is amazing and I am fortunate that I can go on vacations but coming home, there is nothing like that. I woke up today in my own bed and it felt wonderful. Unfortunately I couldn’t stay in bed all morning and relax and enjoy the comforts of being in my own space. I had to get up and get going.

I had a run planned with Chris and Ryan, both on my Reach the Beach team. We had made plans to do 7 amazing miles so I opted to bring Sirius since it was below 70 degrees and we were only doing 7 miles. We headed into Charlotte and went on some back roads that Chris had gone on before and promised some amazing sights. Amazing views there were. Between wide open farm lands, views of the lakes and mountains I was not disappointed. Bonus, where I parked my car was across the street from a field of sunflowers. After our run we totally went into the field and took some great photos of the flowers.

It was an amazing run and just what I needed after a weekend away at the beach. Some time with friends, Sirius and bonding over running and geeking out about our mile splits as they were faster than we were anticipating. Got to love being a runner!
