Essex Half Marathon
On Sunday I ran the Essex half marathon. This was the inaugural year for the half marathon. I thought for the first year they did a great job. This was the only course that was EXACTLY 13.1 miles. Normally I end up running 13.28 or something like that. Nope. You finished on the high school track and it stopped at exactly 13.1
The course was nice. It ranged from pavement to dirt roads. There were definitely some rolling hills and some steeper climbs but nothing too bad. Although, nothing is as bad as the Mad Marathon.
It was a small town race and not a ton of people that ran this race. They didn’t do a ton of advertising and so I think that kept the numbers down. However it was great and well staffed. Although, due to the low attendance I can say that I finished in the top ten in the 20-29 age group! My unoficial time was 2:10:15.
Will definitely be signing up for this race next year!
